Plantar Fasciitis Symptoms

Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the plantar fascia, a tough fibrous tissue, the band runs from the heel to the base of the toes. Excessive plantar fascia stretching through physical activities like running and jumping, or from natural causes such as flat feet, high arches or overpronation (foot rolling or flattening) leads to the development of tears in the plantar fascia. These tears in the plantar fascia results in symptoms of pain and inflammation.

The mainSymptom of plantar fasciitis is the feeling of acute pain in the inside of the heel. When a strong pain in the heel of the first steps felt in the morning, then it is probably a case of plantar fasciitis. The pain eases during the day when the plantar fascia stretches gradually by warming the feet. Sometimes the pain may begin as a dull pain in the heel and arch, and may later intensify into a strong, persistent pain. Patients with plantarFasciitis can also climb stairs or walking on the toes, very painful.

The pain is also noticed when a person walking or standing up again after a long rest. For those who can exercise routine, pain begin to disappear after the completion of the procedure occur again. The other symptoms that are usually associated with plantar fasciitis, which are tenderness in the heel and tightness in the calf muscles.

There are certain other conditions that can be confused withThe symptoms of plantar fasciitis. Tarsal tunnel syndrome is one of them. A stress fracture of the heel bone, torn plantar fascia, rheumatologic conditions, wear of the heel fat pad and problems with the circulation can cause pain in the heel. The physician should be consulted if the pain stays for a long time to diagnose and correct the cause of the pain will have.
